Subtle
ads in online video Stanford artificial intelligence researchers have developed
software that makes it easy to reach inside an existing video and place a
photo on the wall so realistically that it looks like it was there from the
beginning. The photo is not pasted on top of the existing video, but embedded
in it It works for videos as well - you can play a video on a wall inside
your video. The technology can cheaply do some of the tricks normally performed
by expensive commercial editing systems. Agency pitches gone bad That is
always very sad when a clients turn down your idea. Then you start wondering
what went wrong and then you learn on your own mistakes, or now. Industry
leaders from Coca-Cola, Upper Deck, Kaiser Permanente and more share war
stories about how good agencies made bad decisions. For
those that are thinking of changing somethingÉ join the NO!SPEC initiative so someday (in a perfect
world) there will not be any pitchesÉ This
weekÕs special While
interviews traditionally present what people have to say, in ÒPerspectivesÓ
the interviewees donÕt actually say anything. With the spoken portion of the
footage edited out, ÒPerspectivesÓ leaves only body language, pauses for
thought, and interjections to do the communicating. ÒTypically
people think of ÔcontentÕ only as whatÕs literally being said. The content of
ÔPerspectivesÕ is based on the idea that whatÕs not being said says something
of its own.Ó |

Fiber
Optic Fields of Light The
field of light was originally conceived fifteen years ago during a trip
through central Australia. The red desert had an incredible feeling of energy;
ideas seemed to radiate from it along with the heat. The field of light
installation was one idea that landed in my sketch book and kept on nagging
at meÉ it just had to be done. |
