Cannes highlights

Hot topic this week and not because it is again a great festival. It is because some sort of a need of a change appears on a horizon. One may ask about the future of Cannes Lions while reading about 20% entries fall, some think otherwise tho. In latest Campaign, Claire Beale writes(no link since it is only on paper still) about "festival's", still actual, relevance, and others reveal a spark in a dark but we all know that the web won't save us all. It isn't Noah's Ark that we can jump on and leave all the worries behind.

There were 28 shortlisted UK entries for Cyber Lions and here are the winners. Looking at that, one may say that pure digital is not actually saving the world and what is quite interesting, is that there are gold winners such as this that seem to be missing the point for online advertising. I think that digital work needs a bit more consideration when selecting the entries. Cool doesn't mean good.
And you can't sleep at night I suggest you watch that.

Fiat eco:drive is something that everyone speaks/twitts about because it won but I couldn't get it to work. There is another winner, which is a perfect example that shows us the direction we all should be looking in. I mean the Dark Knight. Does it mean that Lions need separate category? Does the ARG, which Dark Knight's campaign was, fits into a cyber space?
