Anders Byriel(of Kvadrat) invited Roman Signer to do one of his performances. Roman decided fired explosives with 50 meters of Kvadrat fabric attached to it.
Rubbish isn’t it? The context is pretty disappointing, not mentioning the whole explosion which is like a premature ejaculation. Perhaps that was meant to be viral… and people would say “wow! that’s cool!”. I think that this phrase nowadays is a sort of an equivalent of: “rubbish” or even “I am rubbish and this is cool”.
Another piece is a bit further from rubbish, it is an epic video metaphor, visually stunning emphasis of contemporary interpretation of Duchamp’s “ready-mades”. Where assembling objects would produce new piece of art, today we like to take objects and with wanky pleasure watch them fall apart, burn or simply being destroyed.
Explosion by default is considered to include a bit of “wow” factor which accounts for our unconscious drive towards experiencing a boom. Like sex. But premature ejaculation in both cases is embarassing.

Some are gone for ever, some are in polish… hence this is considered to be a new version of my online pulp.
